Gardens in Lower Franconia
A portrait of man & nature

December 5, 2018 to March 10, 2019

How have people envisioned their gardens over the centuries? What values and ideas are behind them and what benefits did they expect to derive from them?

These and other questions are explored in the touring exhibition "Gardens in Lower Franconia", which the district of Lower Franconia is presenting from July 22, 2018, initially at the Museum für Franken at Marienberg Fortress in Würzburg.

Whether for recreation, nutrition or demonstrating power and wealth: there are many reasons why people have created and continue to create gardens. This diversity of garden culture is also reflected in the richly illustrated exhibition, which is aimed at a wide audience, garden lovers, nature lovers and families. It focuses on attractive Lower Franconian gardens that can be visited by anyone interested and also provides a historical overview of garden development in our region. Numerous hands-on elements, tactile and display objects emphasize the sensuality of the "garden" theme.
