KINDER(T)RÄUME
The big family exhibition
December 5, 2018 to March 10, 2019
In every child's world, their own room is firmly anchored as a place of retreat and adventure playground. It is a room that can be transformed into a knight's castle, a train station, a zoo or an entire fairytale kingdom at any time. There are no limits to the imagination!
From December 5, 2018 to March 10, 2019, the Museum für Franken at Marienberg Fortress will be showing the family exhibition KINDER(T)RÄUME. Visitors of all ages will be whisked away to four different themed worlds that characterize play today as they did back then: the idyllic "ideal world" is juxtaposed with "war and conflict". While "inventors and tinkerers" create new things, "reading worlds" invite you to travel into every imaginable story.
The KINDER(T)RÄUME exhibition will present these four themes in large "children's rooms". Fascinating toy collections and interactive play areas complement each other - an experience for the whole family, from grandma to the rascal.
"Man only plays where he is fully human, and he is only fully human where he plays", as Friedrich Schiller once said. In addition to the four children's rooms, the family exhibition also explains why children play at all, what they learn in the process and why we never really stop. The family exhibition at the Museum für Franken invites all visitors to relive their childhood dreams together.
