ART GOES ASTRAY
...and is playful
July 27 - November 7, 2021
More museums than ever before, namely 18 Lower Franconian museums with different concepts and focuses, are exchanging their art for the eleventh time.
18 exhibits are presented in a new, regional setting, in a different atmosphere and context. 2021 "Kunst geht fremd" is very playful! Visitors are cordially invited to see art in other, unfamiliar contexts, discover new museums and experience the whole of Lower Franconia in a playful way.
The Museum für Franken is hosting Vietnamese water puppets from the Museum Obere Saline. They are presented in the baroque hall of the museum next to the carpet with the motif of the "Chinese Wedding". Longing and wanderlust do not come from nowhere and so these small colorful figures, which were made in the second half of the 20th century, came from Hà Nôi via the Schütze Collection to the toy world of the Museum Obere Saline. In the Museum für Franken, they now open up completely new contexts and invite visitors to marvel and admire. In return, the Museum Obere Saline receives six Iron Age toy figures from us as "strangers".
