XPERIMENT - Technikland®
Between art and technology

October 28, 2022 to April 30, 2023

Eine landschaftliche Darstellung mit einem Fluss, Bäumen und einem Pferd an einem Karren. Der obere Teil des Bildes hat eine abstrakte, geometrische Farbverlaufsgestaltung in Blau- und Grüntönen.

Technology and art - how does that work? The Museum für Franken answers this question with "XPERIMENT - Technikland®: Between Art and Technology", a multi-layered hands-on exhibition.

Ein Diagramm mit Knoten, darunter die Begriffe Licht, Energie, Informatik, Chemie, Kraft und Computer, die durch Linien verbunden sind. Das Diagramm visualisiert Zusammenhänge zwischen den Begriffen.

As a mobile version of a modern learning laboratory, this cooperation project with the Förderkreis Ingenieurstudium e. V. of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg opens up exciting insights and new perspectives on the collection of the Museum für Franken in an unusual way.
20 experimental stations, spread throughout the museum, invite visitors to try out scientific experiments with a spirit of research and curiosity and to explore them in a playful way. In the exciting traveling exhibition, young and old can conduct their own experiments, make discoveries or get to the bottom of phenomena from nature and technology. Interesting facts in the form of detailed background information as well as interactive tasks are available in the areas of power, computers, energy, light & color and chemistry.

Try it out
with a WOW effect!

The exhibition route deliberately takes you past museum objects from different eras that relate to the content of the technology station in a variety of ways: What is the difference between pigment and pixel? What effect do UV rays have not only on human skin, but also on museum objects? How did watchmakers make use of the effect of the inclined plane more than 350 years ago? The experiments demonstrate historical connections and their significance for art and culture. Experiments as well as art objects appear in a completely new light and context. The exhibition is a trial and error experience with a wow effect - on both a scientific and humanities level.

Zwei Jugendliche sitzen auf dem Boden und halten gemeinsam eine hölzerne Bogenbrücke. Im Hintergrund ist ein Banner mit dem Titel "Technik - Die Mitmach-Ausstellung" sichtbar.
The exhibition is aimed at young and old and is a cooperation with the Förderkreis Ingenieurstudium e.V. from Erlangen, which is responsible for the partners of the Technikland - staunen @ lernen® brand (www.technikland.org).
