A tour of the fortress teaches a lot about the different functions of a castle: living space, refuge, landmark. The program is supplemented by the famous inhabitants of the castle, such as knights, ladies-in-waiting and prince-bishops. You can touch or try on the knight's helmet, pointed hat and bishop's crook.
Some are very small and delicate, others large and pompous. But how does a clock actually work? People have long been interested in how to tell the time precisely. An entertaining journey through the history of timekeeping.
Funny snapshot or elaborately staged - what do family pictures look like? Over the past centuries, depictions of children, parents and the whole family have changed significantly. Please smile!
What is writing and how did it develop? We will try out the historical writing materials stylus, wax tablet and quill, as well as writing and sealing letters.
Please note: The maximum number of participants for this offer is 20!
The beautiful exhibits and historical rooms of the museum are perfect for all kinds of fairy tales and exciting stories.
Who was Kilian? Where did he come from and what did he want in Würzburg? The special historical situation of the simultaneity of paganism and Christianity can be demonstrated using objects from the archaeology department.
3rd and 4th grade
Who was he, St. Martin? Why do children walk through the streets with lanterns on November 11? The story of the saint's legend comes to life through a look at original weapons of the time, which give us an idea of St. Martin as a rider in the Roman legion. The life story of the saint is re-enacted in costume.
