Archaeology provides insights into the origins of our history. Where did the early settlers come from? What stories do the objects in the Museum für Franken tell about their lives, their homes and their beliefs?
Tilman Riemenschneider is an important medieval carver and sculptor. He had a large workshop in Würzburg and his works are still famous around the world today. For example, Adam and Eve, which were originally created for Würzburg's St. Mary's Chapel, can be seen here. With around 80 sculptures, the Museum für Franken probably has the largest Riemenschneider collection.
Bronze Age cult chariots, medieval sculptures, baroque paintings, magnificent furniture, tapestries and arts and crafts: visit the highlights of Würzburg's art and cultural history. A tour of the Museum für Franken brings numerous treasures and their stories to life.
Incredible stories you will learn about: truth or lies? After each station, we will ask you this question and you will vote as a group. Who was right? Either way, it will be fun!
Changing special exhibitions always offer new insights into Franconian art and cultural history. Book a guided tour for a lively and exciting experience.
